The Face Sheet Measurements

The only measurements NOT on the face sheet are:

1)Height. 2) Weight 3). inner canthus edema 4) measures for the locations of the chest cuts 5). right thigh scar 6) right ridge scalp laceration 7). 8cm scalp laceration. 8) 2.5 approx eop entry 9) 2.5-3 cm estimated head exit wound size. 10) two metal frag measurements.* 11). 5cm top lung discoloration 12 ). 10cc fluid, heart.

* Sibert & O'Neill (Two FBI Agents who attended the autopsy) reported:

"During the autopsy inspection of the area of the brain, two fragments of metal were removed by Dr. HUMES, namely, one fragment measuring 7X2 millimeters, which was removed from the right side of the brain. An additional fragment of metal measuring 1X3 millimeters was also removed from this area, both of which were placed in a glass jar containing a black metal top which were thereafter marked for identification and following the signing of the *** proper receipt*** were transported by Bureau agents to the FBI Laboratory."

The bullet fragments removed from the head (the ruler is in cm)

Note that the fragment sizes obviously do not comport with the sizes given in the report.(7 x 2mm and 3 x 1 mm.)

"Mr. SPECTER. Moving back to 843 will you describe those fragments indicating their weight and general composition?
Mr. FRAZIER. These fragments consisted of two pieces of lead, one weighed 1.65 grains. The other weighed .15 grain. They were examined spectrographically so their present weight would be somewhat less since a very small amount would be needed for spectrographic analysis."

39 pieces of info.

6 stated as 'approximated', including the entry site.

7 easily guessed /'remembered' from autopsy

20 incontravertibly directly from Boswell's diagram.

The extremely problematic measurement here is for the recovered metal fragments. It would not be beyond imagination that Humes figure of '10cc' for the fluid in the heart was simply a rough estimate from memory. Similarly the ' 2" ' area of upper right lung discoloration. The exact locations of the surgical 'chest cuts' (performed at Parkland Hospital) were hardly crucial information. But the exact measurements of the metal fragments (7 x 2mm and 3 x 1 mm.) are not stated on the reciept Sibert & O'Neill gave Capt. Stover, Humes superior. However they are stated in Sibert & O'Neill's report to be that exact size.

"22 Novenber 1963 From: Francis X O'Neill, Jr., Agent FBI ;James W Sibert, Agent, FBI

To: Captain J.H.Stover, Jr, Commanding Officer, U S Naval Medical School, National Naval Medical Centre, Bethesda, Maryland.
1). We hereby acknowledge reciept of
a missle removed by Commander James J. HUMES,MC, USN on this date.
(signed) Francis X O'Neill, Jr., James W Sibert"

If the hypothesis that Humes was working only from Boswell's sheet is correct, then the question is open: where did Humes get these measurements? Note also that the receipt is for 'a missle' (singular).
