Larry's Version Of F8

(Above) Mantik's drawing from the x-rays.

(Above)
The remaining forehead (yellow) according to Mantik. (transferred from the drawing. The metal frags help position this accurately).

(Above) Boswell's drawing for the ARRB of the outline of the remaining forehead. Note the similarity with Mantiks' drawing. The apparent difference between the hairline on the left & the vertex on the left may be accounted for by the removal of the large loose chunk of bone there diagrammed on Boswell's autopsy sheet between the taking of the AP skull x-ray (taken before 'any manipulations' according to all concerned ) and the taking of photo F8 (after the brain was removed).

(Above) Angel's drawing.

(Above) The remaining forehead in Joe's view. Compare with Mantik.

It seems much too high in proportion to it's width.

(Left) Larry's take on F8. The forehead proportions look much more like those on the x-ray.

(Above)
The remaining forehead in my view.

The proportions seem reasonably compatible with the x-ray (left)

We can try to rectify the forehead proportions problem in Joe's view by shifting F8 'down' so that the line of the overturned scalp is just above the eyebrows. (below right).

This looks attractive at first glance, but seems to me to lead to a head / skull which doesn't have a back to it - as below. The back of the head appears to be about the fore/aft midline.

The skull below shows the proportions we would expect.

(Above) To conform to the HSCA FPP view that the 'exit' (arrowed) lies in the coronal suture, F8 would need to be oriented somewhat as above.

In view of Mantik's, Angel's & Boswell's drawings - and for other reasons not gone into here - this view is completely untenable. Note that (even if true) it would put the 'entry' way down the back of the skull, at any rate nowhere near the 'cowlick'.
